Terraria 1.1

v1.1 is out, and if you haven’t played it, nows the time. If you shelved it shortly after released, give it another go. So much has been added and improved. What i’d really like to point out, is how the creator of this game is still dishing out major updates even after making his millions. Kudos to you good sir. ( Glares coldly at Notch )

Indie List

I’m obviously too lazy to blog, so for now i’m just going to keep a running list on Indie games I’ve either played or have an interest in. See the links at the top of the page for my Indie list.

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler

Yeah, thats a 92mm case fan. The thing is massive, probably larger than the size of my fist. There’s actually a bigger version with 120mm fans, you’d have to have a large ATX case for that one. My mATX case just barely fit this monster.  So for 20 bucks what did i get? Temps on my Intel Core2 dropped from 58c under stress to 49c, with about half the noise. Win.

You can also install an additional 92mm on the other side of it to improve performance. However, my case exhaust fan is so close to it I don’t know if there is any point to do that with smaller cases. Also, there is only 1 port on the mobo to control a CPU fan, so you’d have to use a mobo fan port with software like CPUFAN to control the RPM on the secondary fan.

It was a bit of a pain to assemble, and there are no instructions for the AM3 parts (i would assume they exist online somewhere). Swapping out the old heat sink for this one was not fun, it would be much easier to just get this from the get go and install it while the mobo is out of the case. I just realized however that it would have been much easier to install if i had removed the fan first, pushed the pins, then reinstalled the fan (really wish i had thought of that last night).

I think I’ll probably get another one of these for my AM3 system, I highly recommend for those wanting to do some light over clocking or for those who cant stand whiny CPU fans.
